Here’s the Rock Band DLC for this week. It’s a been a while coming, but next week we’ll see 7 Nirvana tracks! More importantly, it’s from their Nevermind offering. Sadly, “Come As You Are” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” aren’t being made available. We’ll have to manage with these 7 master tracks.

The full Nirvana 7 Pack will be priced $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track.

I, for one, am looking forward to “Polly” and “On A Plain”. These promise to be good times.

Little Big Planet Beta Impressions September 25, 2008

I managed to score a beta key for Little Big Planet the other day. I have to admit that the controls took a little getting used to due to sheer amount of activities. Adjusting to hopping between the three depth planes was a little odd at first, but grows on you quickly. Stephen Fry adds the little comical nuances to the voiceover that just brings the game together. The games helps you out every step of the way, from learning to control your sackboy to creating your first level.

There is just something about this game that makes me smile as I play it. It could be the overly cute sackfolk… or how they playfully interact with their environment… or the creatively designed levels.

I wish I had some screenshots to share with you detailing my gaming experience. The community is definitely going to drive the longevity of this game. The beta had only been out for less than a day, and already there were hundreds of community generated stages. Some very excellent… others, well… they are still learning the system.

During my first multiplayer experience, I was greeted with some intense lag that made the game somewhat frustrating. However, this being a beta, I understand they are working out some kinks.

All in all, my first impressions are great. This has every chance to be a defining game for the Playstation 3. The Media Molecule staff have outdone themselves. I am anxious to et my hands on the full copy of this game.

Viva la Sackboy!

PAIN DLC – Delayed to Sept. 11, 2008 September 5, 2008

The new expansion level for PAIN was due out on Sept 4th, 2008. Fortunately, it has been delayed. Yes, I said “FORTUNATELY”! It seems the trophies that were originally included were deemed to difficult by the play testers. So, the developers went back and eased off the gas a little.

Joystiq has the details and the list of included trophies. Read on!

Pain DLC delayed a week, trophies toned down – Joystiq

First, the bad news: the downloadable “Uncle Jimmy’s Fun Park” level, originally planned for release tomorrow, has been delayed, and is currently targeted for release on the ominous date of Sept. 11.

Why was it delayed? Well that’s the good news: the development team has been spending its time scaling back the difficulty of the somewhat ridiculous trophies it announced last month. Seems testers didn’t have too much fun grinding their way through the “one billion points” trophy, among others. The new trophy list, which is copied below the break, is also set to be downloadable on Sept. 11
