Left 4 Dead Acheivements Revealed October 20, 2008
Posted by Archbishop Xero in : Action, News, XBOX 360 , add a commentFrench gaming site, Succès Full, has revealed Left 4 Dead’s Acheivements for the 360. My favorites include:
- Zombie Genocidest – Kill 53,595 Infected.
- Lamb 2 Slaughter – As an Infected, incap a Survivor who has entered and left a safe room
- Safety First – Play an entire campaign with no Survivors taking friendly fire damage.
I have been looking forward to this game for a long time. Zombies… co-op game play… “custom” games for each play through… looks like a winner. I can only hope this game captures the player as well as Half Life 2. If so, we are in for a treat.

Posted by Archbishop Xero in : News, Playstation 3, Rhythm, XBOX 360 , add a commentHere’s the Rock Band DLC for this week. It’s a been a while coming, but next week we’ll see 7 Nirvana tracks! More importantly, it’s from their Nevermind offering. Sadly, “Come As You Are” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” aren’t being made available. We’ll have to manage with these 7 master tracks.
- Breed
- Lounge Act
- On a Plain
- Polly
- Something in the Way
- Stay Away
- Territorial Pissings
The full Nirvana 7 Pack will be priced $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track.
I, for one, am looking forward to “Polly” and “On A Plain”. These promise to be good times.
Availability:
- Xbox360 on October 21st
- PS3 on October 23rd
Rock on!
PAIN DLC – Delayed to Sept. 11, 2008 September 5, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : Arcade, News, Playstation 3 , add a commentThe new expansion level for PAIN was due out on Sept 4th, 2008. Fortunately, it has been delayed. Yes, I said “FORTUNATELY”! It seems the trophies that were originally included were deemed to difficult by the play testers. So, the developers went back and eased off the gas a little.
Joystiq has the details and the list of included trophies. Read on!
Pain DLC delayed a week, trophies toned down – Joystiq
First, the bad news: the downloadable “Uncle Jimmy’s Fun Park” level, originally planned for release tomorrow, has been delayed, and is currently targeted for release on the ominous date of Sept. 11.Why was it delayed? Well that’s the good news: the development team has been spending its time scaling back the difficulty of the somewhat ridiculous trophies it announced last month. Seems testers didn’t have too much fun grinding their way through the “one billion points” trophy, among others. The new trophy list, which is copied below the break, is also set to be downloadable on Sept. 11
“Extended Play Download Days” through October 2008 September 5, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : News, Puzzle, RPG, Racing, Rhythm, XBOX 360 , add a commentMicrosoft is running an “Extended Play Download Days” promotion between now and the end of October. This includes downloads for various games, including: Oblivion, Mass Effect, and Guitar Hero 3. The obvious gems are the Shivering Isles DLC for Oblivion and the track packs for Guitar Hero 3.
Beautiful Katamari also makes this list with 8 discounted items; bring the DLC from ludicrously expensive to just overly expensive. But if you have been on the fence for these items, this is your time to jump in.
Harmonix explains how Rock Band 2 connects with Rock Band 1 August 21, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : News, Party, Playstation 3, Rhythm, XBOX 360 , add a commentI love Rock Band and have been thrilled about the impending release of Rock Band 2. Of course, my (and many others, I’m certain) main concern dealt with all the DLC songs I’ve purchased for Rock Band. Will they transfer over to Rock Band 2, or will i have to continue playing Rock Band 1 to get my Grateful Dead fix?
Thankfully, Harmonix assuaged my fears and confirmed that all RB1 DLC will work in RB2 with no problems. They didn’t stop there… they went one step further and confirmed that, at least XBOX 360, owners of RB1 can transfer their “on-disc” tracks to RB2. How is that you say??? Read on!
MTV Multiplayer » Harmonix: How ‘Rock Band 2? Lets You Access First Game’s Songs
Well, it’s going to cost any gamer who wants to transport their “RB” 1 songs to “RB2? a little money and it will require two discs — just once. Harmonix PR man John Drake broke it down for me on Tuesday:Drake said that on the day “Rock Band 2? is released — September 14 for the Xbox 360 version — a patch will be issued for the original game. That title update will add an Export feature to the original “Rock Band” game’s menu. Gamers who select that feature will be prompted to input a password, which will be included with copies of “Rock Band 2.” Then you have to pay.
Fallout 3 Release Date August 21, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : Action, Adventure, News, PC, Playstation 3, RPG, XBOX 360 , add a commentGreat news from Bethesda! They’ve announced the release date for Fallout 3. I have always been a huge fan of the Fallout IP and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new installment. From the press release:
Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax Media company, announced today that its highly anticipated title, Fallout® 3, will be available on store shelves and online in North America on October 28, 2008 and in Europe on October 31, 2008.
More information comes from Amazon.com in terms of pricing and editions. There will be three editions to the game: Standard, Collector’s, and, the Amazon.com exclusive, Survival editions for the XBOX 360, PS3, and the PC. I can’t tell you which to get, though I know the 360 and PC versions has been confirmed to get DLC expansions later on. I can only guess that it will be available for the PS3 some months later.

Walmart Pre-order Prices — Too good to be true? January 11, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : News, Playstation 3, Promos & Events, Wii, XBOX 360 , add a commentUPDATE (2:47pm): It appears that these “deals” are dead for the time being, with items “no longer being found.” These could be fantastic deals, if the prices were true. If a pricing mistake, then hopefully too many people didn’t abuse it.

The tubes (SlickDeals.net, Joystiq.com, many others) are a buzzin’ with some spectacular deals on videos games over at Wal-Mart. That is, if these are indeed the actual prices you end up paying for your pre-orders. The deals all across the map for next-gen games: Wii, 360, PS3.
Europe to roll with Beautiful Katamari January 10, 2008

Atari has announced, via GamesIndustry.biz, they will unleash Katamari joy in Europe sometime February. For our foreign friends, this is great news — at least for those you enjoy rolling up fish, people, trees, candy, and hundreds of other random objects.
With Beautiful Katamari being released stateside since October 2007, it’s a wonder why it’s taken so long to jump to Europe. Regardless of the additional wait, it’s now time for Europe to get it’s roll on and help the Prince create the stars for the King of the Cosmos!
