Walmart Pre-order Prices — Too good to be true? January 11, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : News, Playstation 3, Promos & Events, Wii, XBOX 360 , add a commentUPDATE (2:47pm): It appears that these “deals” are dead for the time being, with items “no longer being found.” These could be fantastic deals, if the prices were true. If a pricing mistake, then hopefully too many people didn’t abuse it.

The tubes (SlickDeals.net, Joystiq.com, many others) are a buzzin’ with some spectacular deals on videos games over at Wal-Mart. That is, if these are indeed the actual prices you end up paying for your pre-orders. The deals all across the map for next-gen games: Wii, 360, PS3.

Atari has announced, via GamesIndustry.biz, they will unleash Katamari joy in Europe sometime February. For our foreign friends, this is great news — at least for those you enjoy rolling up fish, people, trees, candy, and hundreds of other random objects.
With Beautiful Katamari being released stateside since October 2007, it’s a wonder why it’s taken so long to jump to Europe. Regardless of the additional wait, it’s now time for Europe to get it’s roll on and help the Prince create the stars for the King of the Cosmos!

This week’s releases include one master track and two covers.
- “Gimme Three Steps” — Lynyrd Skynyrd (master track)
- “Hard to Handle” — The Black Crowes *
- “Limelight”– Rush *
You can also download individual songs for ~160 MS points or ~$1.99 a song.
Enjoy!
Compensation for XBOX Live Outages? January 2, 2008
Posted by xerocube in : News, XBOX 360 , add a commentAccording to Joystiq (and other various sources), Microsoft is considering compensating users of the XBOX Live service with Gold accounts (sorry, Silver folks). Though it has not been disclosed as to what such “compensation” will be, it is good to see that the big M will attempt to make good for their wonky service. I’ll chalk it up to growing pains over the holiday season, but it is still frustrating to log in (or attempt to) and find that you can’t connect to the service, or any matchmade games.
Oh well… I logged in last night and was able to hop into a few games of CoD4. Things appear to be getting better.
